| Wnet into sleep mode while charger was hooked up. Would not go out of sleep mode. Took out battery and of course it turned off. With that battery back in, it turned back on whne the button was pushed down and went through half of the EXP boot to the point of exhibiting the EXP Logo and the sliding dashes in the lower middle of the Logo screen. Then it went back into sleep mode and did not display the desktop screen. Bought a new battery from Dell and put it in without turning on the computer. Charged it for an hour then longer. It will not turn on at all after even 24 hours of charging although the left-most of the three light on the front edge of the computer flashes about every 30 seconds. |

| Laptop was working fine, but recently had problem with "scrambled video". Problem went away for about a week without further intervention, but is now back and constant. We have tested both the LCD and via an external monitor and both display the same garbled image.
I also attempted removing the add-on memory module without any change in the result. |

| Item #1 - The screen is not working properly. It is dark at all times. If held at the right angle one can faintly make out the images on the screen. When the laptop is hook up to another monitor the machine is usable. There has not been any file or program loss, so we believe that the hard drive and motherboard are fine.
Item #2 - The power port does not seem to work properly. It then the port itself may been worn from usage.
